James Ryan hadn’t originally set out to be General Manager of a grower that supplies nearly 10,000 tonnes of apples to Woolworths each year. He wanted to play cricket for Australia. But when the call up didn’t come, his stepfather Michael Ajani inspired his interest in farming and then, over time, it developed into a passion.
Bowel Cancer Awareness
Around the country, hundreds of thousands of apples each week are now contributing to bowel cancer awareness through the support of a new apple packing facility in Tynong, Victoria.
Apple packaging from the 9 Mile Fresh facility, which was officially opened on Friday 8th August by Victoria’s Deputy Premier the Hon. Peter Ryan MP, will proudly boast the Bowel Cancer Australia logo.
Bowel Cancer Australia community engagement manager Ms Claire Annear said the support from 9 Mile Fresh had developed from an existing relationship with industry group Aussie Apples.
